Winners of the Third Golden Trezzini Awards have been announced.

On December 1, the awarding ceremony of the Golden Trezzini Awards took place at the State Hermitage Museum Official Hotel, St. Petersburg. The winners in the main and special categories, as well as owners of Golden Certificates, Special and Honourable Mention Certificates were announced.

The ceremony participants were greeted by Mikhail Piotrovsky, President of the World Club of Petersburgers, General Director of the State Hermitage, Honourary Chairman of the International Council of the Golden Trezzini Awards; Vladimir Zapevalov, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg, Chairman of the International Council of the Golden Trezzini Awards; Evgeny Grigoriev, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, Tobias Privitelli, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Switzerland to the Russian Federation; Pascal Sliwanski, Consul General of France in St. Petersburg; Vladimir Grigoriev, Chief Architect of St. Petersburg, Chairman of the Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture; Konstantin Sukhenko, Chairman of St. Petersburg Committee for Culture; Henriette Borg Reinholdt, Director of the Danish Cultural Institute in St. Petersburg; Sani Kontula-Webb, Director of the Finnish Institute in St. Petersburg, and others guests of honour.

744 applications from 59 countries have been sent to the Golden Trezzini competition. International panel of judges examined 60 finalists, submitted by organisations and individuals from 19 countries and selected the winners. 

The International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design are named after Domenico Trezzini (1670—1734), the first architect of St. Petersburg and the founder of Petrine Baroque. The Awards have been held since 2018. The motto of the Awards is “Architecture as Art.” The Awards are intended to acknowledge and promote architectural and designer projects that amount to works of art. The Honorary Chairman of the International Council of the Awards is Mikhail Piotrovsky, General Director of the State Hermitage, St. Petersburg.

The best projects by competitors will be added to the collection of the Architectural Graphics Fund of the Museum of St. Petersburg History and take part in an annual exhibition at the Peter and Paul Fortress.
