St. Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development supports the Golden Trezzini Awards

Sergey Korneev, Head of the Committee, announced they are going to support the 4^th International Awards for Architecture and Design named after St. Petersburg’s first architect Domenico Trezzini and agreed to join the International Council of the Awards.

“As the head of the St. Petersburg Committee for Tourist Development I can’t help but appreciate large-scale events and their organizers for the input into establishment and extension of regional and international contacts,” said Sergey Korneev. “The Golden Trezzini Awards is definitely one of such initiatives, and I wish it success and further well-being. I am honored to have been invited to join the Council of the Awards named after St. Petersburg’s first architect who found a second home in our country. This fact is perfectly illustrative of the philosophy of international friendship and openness typical for the tourism sector in general and the St. Petersburg hospitality industry in particular.”

Albeit project entries are submitted and further evaluated online, the apex – the awarding ceremony for the winners in St. Petersburg – takes place offline,” said Pavel Chernyakov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Golden Trezzini Awards. “I expect that when the epidemiological situation eases and we are ready to invite more guests from abroad, the Committee for Tourism Development will help us to make their stay in our city really comfortable and ferosh.”

Sergey Korneev is a graduate of the Law Department at the St. Petersburg State University, Ph. D. in Legal Science, a member of the Public Council for Russia’s Ministry of Culture, Councilor for President of Russia’s Museum Council. 2012 through 2013 – Director of the Tourism and Regional Policy Department for Russia’s Ministry of Culture; 2013 through 2014 – Deputy CEO at Transport Direction for the Olympics, Independent Non-profit; 2014 through 2018 – Deputy Head of the Federal Tourism Agency. He has been in charge at the St. Petersburg Tourism Development Committee since 2020.

The Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design are named after Domenico Trezzini (1670—1734), Russian architect of Swiss origin, the first architect of St. Petersburg. The main objective of the Awards is turning the most artistically valuable architectural, design, restoration, scenography, and exhibition projects into museum objects. The Honorary Chairman of the International Council for the Golden Trezzini Awards is Mikhail Piotrovsky, President of the World Club of St. Petersburgers and General Director of the State Hermitage.

2021 Golden Trezzini Awards winners will be awarded in November during the Gala-Night at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. The best projects by competitors will be added to the collection of the Architectural Graphics Fund at the Museum of St. Petersburg History and take part in an annual exhibition at the Peter and Paul Fortress.

Entries are open till October 1 at https://www.goldtrezzini.ru/en/application2021/. Nominees from all over the world are invited. More than 170 projects from 40+ countries have been already accepted. Participation is free of charge.

The General Partner of the Awarding Ceremony is the Mikhailovsky Theatre. The General Museum Partner is the State Museum of St. Petersburg History. The Strategic museum partner is the State Russian Museum. The independent auditor is Borenius Attorneys Russia Ltd.
