Who is the «Golden Trezzini»? It is both a symbol and an award. The name of Domenico Trezzini (1670–1734), the first architect of St. Petersburg, was given to the international awards for architecture and design founded in this city under the motto «Architecture as Art.» Its main trophy – the Golden Trezzini sculpture – is a true work of art in its own right.

Standing 27 cm tall and crafted from porcelain with gold metallization, the statuette depicts a young architect who has just stepped onto the banks of the Neva. In his left hand, he holds a scroll of architectural drawings. With his right hand, he raises the collar of his cloak, shielding himself from the piercing Baltic wind. His gaze is fixed on the unknown. Who is this man? A Swiss newcomer. An obscure fortification engineer who has sailed from Denmark. He has no idea what awaits him in these marshlands — failure or triumph? But ahead lies something far greater: immortality.
The creator of the statuette, St. Petersburg artist Dmitry Komov, infused the image with symbolism, drama, and hope. The figure is twisted into a spiral — like the whirlwind of fate. The asymmetrical base hints at the challenging path that lay ahead for the great architect.
Since 2018, the «Golden Trezzini» sculpture has crowned the winners of the awards. It is more than just a mark of recognition. It is an artistic manifesto — a link between the past, present, and future of architecture as art.
In 2025, the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory became the official manufacturer of the Golden Trezzini sculptures.
