Project Interiors of the Central District Library named after I.M. Aksenov and the Children’s Library
Best Design Project for Library
About the project (provided by the applicant) The project concept, titled “Digital Patchwork Quilt,” draws inspiration from the works of local writer I.M. Aksenov and the film “The Matrix.” Like a patchwork quilt, the design combines multiple generations and lifestyles. The children’s and youth sections feature a combination of bright spring-summer colors, while the adult section is rendered in more subdued autumn-winter tones.
Special attention is given to user interaction with the space. Multi-level seating, the ability to transform for various functions, a wealth of technological elements integrated into the overall spatial concept, and unified furniture and navigation solutions create a holistic experience while maintaining unpredictability and intrigue. Users are offered multiple ways to interact with the environment, and the library’s hundreds of thousands of books are supported with maximum storage zones. Different entities coexist in harmony and cultural dialogue throughout the library spaces.
