About the project (provided by the applicant)
The Altai Krai Nature Museum project was developed to create a unique cultural space that not only preserves and showcases the region’s natural heritage but also integrates harmoniously into its picturesque landscape. The museum is located in the mountains, allowing it to become part of the surrounding nature and establish a seamless interaction between architecture and landscape.
The architectural composition of the museum consists of two fluid volumes that organically fit into the natural terrain. These volumes are connected by bridges, creating additional viewpoints. One of the key objectives of the project is to establish a visual connection between the museum’s interior spaces and the surrounding nature. Panoramic glazing allows visitors to enjoy the beauty of the Altai Mountains without leaving the exhibition halls. The views from the terraces create a sense of unity with nature and help visitors gain a deeper understanding of the museum’s theme.
