Project
Zhuravl (“Crane”) outdoor cafe

Nomination
Best Architectural Project by a Student

About the project
The cafe is located on the banks of the Katun River in Altai. It is triangle-shaped, reminding of a flock of cranes flying in a V-formation. The roof of the cafe is slightly sloped, which creates a feeling of spaciousness and lightness. The crane is a bird from old Russian fairy tales, so the café’s design was inspired by the exterior and interior decoration of traditional Russian houses. The entire structure is made of wood, there are massive tables and chairs, and a bar with warm lighting.
