For its new office, AQ Architectural Bureau selected the building of the parish school attached to the Church of St. Nicholas the Appeared, built in 1911—a cultural heritage site with a workshop designed by architect Nikolay Milovidov, father of AQ’s managing partner. The building preserves the atmosphere of old Moscow, and the team carefully maintains a connection with the past, integrating history into a new chapter.
The office project aimed to create a modern, efficient workspace while respecting historical elements. The interior reflects AQ’s philosophy and aesthetic, becoming the bureau’s calling card.
The office occupies two floors with open space areas, meeting rooms, a dining room, and a sample storage. Window openings emphasize the brickwork, and meeting rooms are connected to a coffee point used for lectures and events. The design features a dialogue between historical heritage and minimalist aesthetics: a vintage chandelier, a parquet staircase, preserved brick arches, and sofas in the company’s signature colors.
