Best Implemented Architectural Lighting Project in Russia

About the project (provided by the applicant)

The memorial to Emperor Nicholas I was designed by Monferrand and opened in 1859. Made by Peter Klodt, it features a 6-meters-tall mounted figure of the Emperor on a pedestal. The pedestal is decorated with four allegoric female figures made by Robert Salemann — Power, Wisdom, Justice, and Faith. Around the memorial, there are four chiseled lamp posts.

Throughout its existence, the memorial used to be poorly lit at night. After small spotlights were installed into the original lamps, this problem was solved successfully.
