The project redefines the elementary school as more than a conventional facility, integrating cultural, sports, and service functions within a climate responsive design in Kerman’s hot, dry region. Inspired by Iranian “Chahar Bagh” and Bagh-e Shahzadeh, it employs an introverted courtyard layout with vegetation as a natural filter, optimizing shade, light, and ventilation. Innovative technologies BMS controlled intelligent shading, thermochromic glass, solar panels, smart lighting, ventilation, and security systems reduce energy use by up to 20% while ensuring comfort and safety. Key spaces include separate school, administrative, cultural, and sports buildings with distinct entrances to avoid congestion, and child centered courtyards promoting supervision and inclusivity.
