About the project (provided by the applicant)
The Baikal Theatre and Cultural Center is being constructed in the heart of Ulan-Ude on the banks of the Selenga River through a public-private partnership. The project is set to be completed by 2026. The establishment of this new theater center will help unlock the significant cultural potential of the Republic of Buryatia, preserve both tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and provide opportunities for creative leisure and artistic education for visitors.

The theater is one of the cultural brands of the Republic of Buryatia and has been recognized as the best national theater in Russia by the Zvezda Teatrala International Theatre Award. The current project plan includes a theater and concert hall with a capacity of 1,000 seats, featuring an amphitheater and a balcony. The venue will also have a stage equipped to host theatrical performances, show programs, musical and ballet productions, along with all necessary technological spaces and equipment.
