Baloochestani Carpet Gallery

Best Implemented Interior Design Project for Public Space
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The Carpet Gallery of Hakim Bazaar was conceived as a dialogue between tradition and modernity. Instead of reproducing the past, the design reinterprets Safavid forms such as four-centered arches and domed structures, combining them with new arches inspired by the paisley motif of Persian carpets. The paisley transforms from a two-dimensional pattern into flowing spatial geometry, integrated with light and movement. A bold red, referencing Persian carpets and the soil of Isfahan, runs throughout the project, while mirrorwork recalls the nearby monuments of Naqsh-e Jahan Square. Together, these elements create an architecture that is not a nostalgic revival nor a pursuit of pure modernity, but a living interaction between history and the present, deeply rooted in the cultural memory of Hakim Bazaar while opening to the future.
