Project
Beauty of Function: European-Style Minimalist Interior
Category
Best Implemented Apartment / Private House Interior Design Project
About the project (provided by the applicant)
In this restrained European-style house, every detail serves a functional purpose, and each material is thoughtfully used, emphasizing the project’s minimalist and well-considered aesthetic.
The transition between the exterior and interior finishes is smooth and organic: like the plaster on the facade, the interior walls are finished in a light gray shade. Black matte wooden furniture echoes the color of the brick. A custom-designed fireplace was made using a single stone slab. The kitchen, with dark burnt wood and concrete-style plaster facades, stylistically continues the exterior, which in turn harmonizes with the landscaping.
A large window behind the staircase creates a sense of transparency: light passes through the gaps between the steps, filling the hall.
Julia Skachkova executed a visually cohesive project where every decision—from complex construction techniques and layout to the choice of furniture and materials—serves a clear function.
