Berkut Baroneza (São Paulo, Brazil)

Project
Berkut Baroneza

Category
Best Implemented Project of Private Residence

About the project
The design concept thought for Berkut house was that a slim, almost laminar-like volume lands on the project site to create its many sights - from the most intimate to the furthest ones, being able to see the valley on the furthermost part of the house's site
The preliminary design established then was to create a subtle and intrinsic architecture for its site location - Bragança Paulista, state of São Paulo, Brazil. With that in mind, it was then decided for a composition that enlightens its fundamental elements: the slabs are thicker so that it wasn’t necessary beams, and the few points of contact are only on the structural walls and some few pillars - sometimes meeting the green of the grass, sometimes the reflecting pool.
The building materiality is exposed concrete, and, beyond that, establishes a dialogue between its texture and the transparency of the glass, therefore suggesting a highly efficient composition - small structurally at the same time that is generous and permeable
