About the project (provided by the applicant)
In 2022, the owner of a 100 sq.m apartment in a historic building in the Khamovniki district approached the .dpt bureau. The task was a complete rethinking of the interior. The volumetric-spatial concept is based on a composition of straight lines, circles, and a dynamic wave, referencing the De Stijl modernist artists. Geometric elements were integrated into the interior: the accent blue volume became the core of the apartment, and wooden beams run through it.
The plan was divided into two halves: a private block with a bedroom, study, and master bathroom, and an open area with a living room, kitchen, and dining room. The living room combines a marble podium and a hexagonal steel console. Behind the sofa is a wave-shaped wall with curtains; the kitchen features a steel island, and the bathroom ceilings are designed as lightboxes. All spaces are unified by a common concept of forms, materials, and colors.
