Nomination Best Project of Public Building or Facility
About the project All my days in architecture all I wanted was to give Syria, a third world country, a futuristic project to make the city alive with something I love, which is the sea. I wanted to make a connection between the sea waves and the seashells and make them as one in fluid lines.
It is a marine tourism project which includes an aquarium, a theater, an expedition/research center, and an entertainment center. One thing within the project that connects everything is water, either inside or outside, and in every zone of the project there are activities which include water, giving fun and futuristic feeling. The structure looks like seashells on the land.
Location
Lattakia, Syria
Project created in
2019
Applicant and author of the project
Mohanad Albasha, founder of Gravity Studio located in Accra, Ghana, and Syria. I like finding new ideas in design and thinking about the way we feel and what kind of emotion you have when you look at the project.
