Project
Preservation Works on the Federal Cultural Heritage Site “Estate and House of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin”
Category
Best Implemented Project for the Adaptation of a Cultural Heritage Site
About the project (provided by the applicant)
To commemorate the 225th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin, a large-scale program of restoration and adaptation works was carried out on the cultural heritage sites — the estate houses and parks in the village of Bolshoe Boldino and the village of Lvovka.
The main focus of the project was careful restoration combined with adaptation for modern use, including the installation of new media equipment, re-exhibition of museum spaces, and the creation of new infrastructure in the park areas. The works included restoration of facades, architectural décor, and structural elements, as well as comprehensive interior restoration — such as the recreation of brass wall lamps, reorganization of exhibition halls, and the introduction of new media-based displays.
In the parks, small architectural forms and fences were restored, a pedestrian path network and convenient navigation were introduced, and landscape lighting was installed. The project preserved the historical authenticity, picturesque character, and high memorial value of the estates, while giving the museum spaces new exhibition meaning.
