Brutalism

Best Implemented Apartment / Private House Interior Design Project

About the project (provided by the applicant)
The apartment is located in a residential complex built on the former ZIL factory site. Brick, steel, and brutalist architecture set the tone. The project features raw concrete, rough plaster, metal, glass, and rust tones.

Despite the industrial style, warmth and softness are present. For example, the daughter’s bedroom is delicate and light. On the neutral background, distinctive details stand out — such as a vintage pedal “Moskvich” from 1985.

At the entrance, against an accent terracotta wall (referencing corten steel facades) and microcement walls, a mirrored cube creates a striking effect. Serving as an expressive art object, it seems to float and merge with the space.

The brutalist aesthetic is further emphasized through carefully selected decor and accessories. Each element carries its own energy, including a statement lamp from the iconic brand Flos.
