About the project (provided by the applicant)
The client’s vision for the Ikeja Community Church was centered around creating a vibrant and meaningful space that would become a cornerstone for faith, education, and health within the community. They expressed the need for a design that would resonate deeply with the cultural and spiritual identity of the residents, while also addressing a range of functional requirements to serve diverse communal needs.
The Ikeja Community Church project was understood as more than just a building; it was a response to the client’s desire to weave faith, education, and wellness into the fabric of daily life. The brief demanded a structure that would act as an anchor for the community, a place where people gather to pray, learn, heal, and grow together. The building is a composition of interconnected spaces that reflect its multi-faceted purpose. The ground floor is dedicated to a double-height sanctuary that accommodates 1,300 worshippers.
