About the project (provided by the applicant)
Wine is the elixir resulting from the balance between two forces: creation, light, and warmth in the first half of the year vs. processing, darkness, and cold in the second.
The core is the events enveloped by a solid stone structure, like a protective rampart. Therefore, our design not only shapes a structure but also creates & hosts events within it.
Rather than compartmentalizing spaces, we designed a large flexible space that adapts to various unpredictable events & sheds its skin.
A stone-cave-like building stands atop a hill, sheltered with wood, evokes Mycenaean gates, Mithraeum, & Nuragic tombs. A central axis pursues eastern light, connecting a courtyard & vineyard. Two stories organize public events above & wine spaces below. Openings bring light, views, and flexibility for exhibitions, markets, & ceremonies, creating framed vistas of vines and sky for lasting memory.
