Project
Culture and leisure center in Lidia Klement Square Garden

Category
Best Project of Building or Facility by Student

About the project
The center is designed in the Admiralteysky District of St. Petersburg, bordering on the streets and the firewalls of residential buildings. The key objective of the project is to fit the new facility into the existing urban environment. Inspired by the works of Alvar Aalto and the Finnish style in architecture in general, Natalia used laconic shapes and materials for the design, making it both outstand against the background and not conflict with it.
The library volume, shaped as a segment of a circle, is located at the irregular border of the landplot, whereas other volumes are right and square.
