About the project (provided by the applicant)
The project site faced a mosque and retail spaces, prompting residents’ desire for privacy while still benefiting from light, air, and outdoor views. This led to a dual-layer strategy: an outer shell with minimal openings to protect against visual intrusion, and an inner layer with wide openings for ventilation and light. The facade reflects this interaction, where the external layer protrudes into the interior, and the internal layer appears on the outer skin. This spatial overlap created a dialogue between the building and its urban context. Additionally, green spaces and a central courtyard were integrated, blurring boundaries between inside and outside, and reinforcing the spatial flexibility between layers.
