About the project (provided by the applicant)
“A Return to the Land, A Vision Toward the Future”
This 12-story single-unit residential tower in Royan, Mazandaran, emerges as a contemporary response to the region’s disappearing natural heritage and traditional architectural roots. Inspired by the pitched roofs typical of local vernacular architecture, the design reinterprets them with a minimalist and modern language—creating a dialogue between climate responsiveness and cultural continuity.
At the heart of the concept is the idea of reconnecting residents with the environment. Deep balconies and large openings on both the north and south façades enhance natural ventilation and frame immersive views of the sea and forests. The building breathes—encouraging cross-ventilation and visual connectivity between the interior spaces and the lush landscape of northern Iran.
