Project
Summer House on a Mountainside

Nomination
Best Project of Private Residence

About the project
The project aims to design a minimalist-style and self-sufficient modern hut on steep mountainside while preserving the natural landscape and existing trees. Another goal is to ensure a nice view of the sea in the southeast and of Mount Demerdzhi in the northwest.

There’s a tree-shaded terrace – a day-time area with sunny southeastern exposure. The northwest facade is a quiet space, overlooking the garden.

The snow-white facades of the house backdrop the natural setting, rocks, herbs and trees. The living roof offers a 360-degree view. The house stands on metal stilts supporting a reinforced concrete foundation, which helps to protect the roots of surrounding trees, cut costs and fit the house into the existing landscape.
