About the project (provided by the applicant)
The customer's wishes were as follows:
- The fireplace should feature a subdued color, ideally gray, to blend seamlessly with the walls and avoid clashing with the vibrant modern paintings in the living room.
- There should be symbolic figures such as winged lions and the sun.
- The fireplace should evoke the elegance of the Art Deco style.
To meet these requirements, the designer made the cladding from fine-grained chamotte, ensuring a low relief and a variety of textures. She also applied engobes and glazes to achieve a rich, nuanced color, while incorporating gray and gold lustre to enhance the overall effect.
