Designing a house for one’s own family is an exciting experiment! An invaluable experience every architect should go through. An architect’s home is their calling card — looking at the house, one can get a sense of its inhabitants.
Family composition: 2+2. Our ideal country house:
- Single-story house.
- Flat roof.
- Large terrace.
- Linear layout — all rooms face one side; the oak forest — the house is introverted.
- Panoramic windows.
- Large kitchen-living room with access to the terrace.
- 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.
This is the essential comfortable minimum for our current stage of life. The exterior reflects contemporary architectural trends: elongated volume, extensive glazing, and natural finishing materials such as ribbed tiles and larch wood.
