Soaring House

Best Implemented Project of Private Residence
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The house is located in the Moscow region on a compact plot of complex shape. This became a challenge for the project and largely determined the appearance of the future building. The architectural solutions are based on views, various sunlight scenarios, and a simple, functional logic of spatial layout.
The ground floor is visually permeable and open, with glass and satin-finished stainless steel used for the façade, allowing it to dissolve into the surrounding landscape and fill the garden with reflected light. The second floor is shifted and rotated relative to the first, which improved illumination of the northern part of the site, increased the house’s area without cluttering the surroundings, and created a terrace protected from precipitation. To achieve a sense of lightness and weightlessness, the supporting columns were made of stainless steel and integrated into the plane of the second floor’s monolithic slab. As a result, the second floor volume appears to float above the site.
