Project
Gagarin Space Explorers Park

Category
Best Implemented Landscape Architecture Project

About the project
In 1965, a stela was installed in the place where the first world’s astronaut landed, and in 1981 they added a sculpture of Yuri Gagarin. Every year, festive events take place here on the 12th of April.
As the memorial didn’t really reflect the grandeur of this event,
they decided to establish an education center that would explain the significance of these events in the space exploration. At the data center, visitors can learn the history of the park establishment and exploration of space, too.
The park was restored in one year to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the first human’s flight to space.
