The Kamal Theatre is the oldest national theatre in Russia. In 1906, its troupe staged the first public performance in the Tatar language. The existing modernist theatre building was constructed on the opposite shore of the lake in 1986. For its time, it was innovative and futuristic. The new building continues this tradition, being both a cultural and architectural project that reflects the spirit of its age.
At the same time, the functions of the new Kamal Theatre are not limited to theatrical performances. It is a multifunctional cultural center and a public space, accessible to residents and visitors of the city not only during performances.

Wowhaus is an architecture bureau based in Moscow, Russia. It was founded in 2008 by architects Oleg Shapiro and Dmitry Likin. The bureau transforms urban spaces and reveals their potential. Wowhaus are multidisciplinary professionals working on city master plans, designing cultural and educational facilities, creating hotel complexes, reconstructing historical sites, and developing landscaping, exhibition design, and interior design projects.
