The Gazprom Avia terminal for domestic flights has a capacity of 25 passengers per hour. The façades are made of structural glazing with external louvers—horizontal on the south side to block the “high” sun, and vertical on the west and east sides for the “low” sun. Mullioned glazing on the north and south façades forms entrance areas with media screens. The entrance areas are protected from precipitation and direct sunlight by transparent canopies extending nearly 25 m and covering a total area of 2,300 sq.m. The canopy roofs are made of triplex glass with integrated photovoltaic elements (monocrystalline silicon) and an automated snow-melting system.
The Levashovo terminal reveals the character and beauty of the northern landscape, using local stone, landscaping, and pine trees against granite walls. The massive, monumental southern façade made of stone slabs and the “light” northern façade of semi-circular glazed louvers symbolize “earth” and “sky.”
