About the project (provided by the applicant)
Guwahati International Airport’s Bamboo Orchid Terminal reimagines infrastructure as an ode to Assam’s ecology and culture. Inspired by the region’s orchids and crafted with sustainable design strategies, the terminal blends biophilia, daylight, and advanced technology to enhance passenger experience. Bamboo and local motifs celebrate vernacular craft while scalable engineering ensures resilience. As a “Gateway to the Northeast,” it embodies architecture harvested, not built—uniting tradition, sustainability, and global connectivity.
