Houses on the trees

Best Project of Public Building or Facility

About the project
The project consists on accommodating cabin rooms as an extension to the existing guesthouse.
Situated in North Albania, the touristic structures were designed in a way to preserve the existing nature of the riverside by intertwining with the trees. The topography as a result is left unchanged.
The elegant structures come in different modules that are adapted to the terrain and are connected in different levels with a system of metal staircases.
All the rooms offer an amazing panoramic view by not obstructing each other visually. At the same time, the staircases can also be used by the general public, as they do not only serve as an access to the rooms, but they also lead you to a panoramic platform, where you can enjoy the nature.
The objective of the project is to create a new attraction point for the tourists, by making it more accessible, dynamic and improving service quality, keeping in mind to have a minimal impact to the environment.
