Project
Inclusive Children’s Camp as a Space for Integrating Children with Disabilities
Category
Best Student Project of Public Space
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The project aims to create a modern inclusive architectural environment.
The design is based on an existing children’s recreation facility. All buildings are connected by covered galleries, with elevators, ramps, and widened passageways provided. Residential units are organized into blocks that consider the needs of different groups of children with disabilities.
The public building includes multifunctional spaces, a teaching apartment, a sensory room, and specialist offices. Interiors are designed according to universal design principles and reflect regional identity, incorporating motifs inspired by Kirishi lace and natural imagery. Residential units are adapted to meet the needs of children with limited mobility and other groups.
Camp spaces—including halls, multipurpose rooms, clubs, and sports areas—are designed for safety, sensory, and cognitive comfort. Tactile, visual, and acoustic elements are integrated to create an adaptive environment.
