The project is located in Al-Rasheed Camp, Baghdad, covering 150,000 m². It aims to transform an abandoned site into a sustainable educational environment. The university includes specialized departments: Veterinary Medicine, Agricultural Engineering, Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, and Physical Education. It also features a recreational and service center with a library, theater, sports fields, gym, and cafeteria. The architectural design is inspired by the neuron concept, symbolizing the connection between academic departments and recreational and service activities. Just as neurons transmit signals to the brain, the design links spaces and functions, creating an interconnected and flexible structure. The massing gradually rises from the entrance inward, with building volumes oriented toward the center to form courtyards that serve as social and educational hubs, enhancing interaction within the campus.

Applicant
Huda Burak Yahya Al-Saady
The applicant is Huda Burak Yahya, a fourth-year student at the University of Technology – Department of Architecture, Architectural Design Branch. Her academic work focuses on creative and contextual sustainable design. She was awarded first place at the national level in Iraq in the Green Education Competition under the Sustainable Buildings category. She has also presented this project at two conferences focused on sustainability.
This project is part of her undergraduate studies.
