About the project (provided by the applicant)
The Jajin Commercial-Service Building is a mixed-use project located in Ardabil, Iran, designed to host a specialized hub for cosmetic products, beauty services, salons, and bridal fashion across all floors. The design concept draws inspiration from the traditional Iranian burqa, symbolizing a cultural veil between interior and exterior spaces. This idea is expressed through a facade made of horizontal metal grids and vertically placed bricks, forming a semi-transparent, lattice-like skin. This unique façade not only evokes the notion of privacy and beauty but also creates a dynamic play of light and shadow throughout the building. The structure aims to become a landmark in Ardabil by blending cultural symbolism with modern architectural language, offering both aesthetic appeal and functional performance for its commercial and service-oriented use.
