Jaracatiá House

About the project (provided by the applicant)
Casa Jaracatiá in São Paulo embodies the essence of contemporary Brazilian architecture. Minimal in form yet rich in experience, it combines pure volumes, simple lines and natural materials to create a seamless dialogue between house, landscape, and daily life.
Its defining feature is the “raft roof”: the underside curves like the hull of a ship, while the top plane rises in a single gentle slope. This dual gesture evokes Brazilian modernism while proposing a renewed, lighter expression for the present.
Materiality grounds the project in place — local stone paving, walls clad in patinated copper, raw wood ceilings, and furniture referencing iconic Brazilian design. These elements enrich the house with warmth, authenticity, and cultural resonance.
Casa Jaracatiá balance between precision and sensibility, where craftsmanship and technology converge to create a timeless work of Brazilian architecture.
