Project
Reconstruction of the Church of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist
Category
Best Architectural Project Created with Hand-Drawn Graphics
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The project represents a concept for the reconstruction of an architectural structure — the church originally designed by German Grimm and Gustav von Goli in 1901–1903. Based on historiographical sources and the surviving drawings by Grimm, I recreate the lost façade elements and the dome with the bell tower, while removing additions built during the Soviet period.
The project is executed on a 200×100 cm board using materials such as drawing paper, graphite pencil, a mixture of tempera and glue, ink, and Indian ink.
