The Kanpu Courtyard Guesthouse is an art-themed project designed to reflect and enhance the unique, artistic spirit of its surroundings. Envisioned as more than just a guesthouse, the project was created with a sense of openness and community integration, offering a contemporary space that embodies and celebrates the unique artistic qualities of Xiaoyuan Village. As a multifunctional venue, it accommodates performances, a bar, exhibitions, and lodging, presenting an immersive cultural space where public engagement is central and life can be experienced from multiple perspectives. The central design element of Kanpu Courtyard is a preserved ancient jujube tree, around which the entire architectural structure is arranged, placing the tree at the heart of the courtyard. Beneath its canopy, a recessed plaza provides a natural gathering space, while the lobby, slightly sunken by 0.6 meters, connects seamlessly to the outdoors with large sliding doors, forming an open indoor-outdoor space.
