The restoration of the church was carried out under the KGIOP program from 2022 to 2025 to return its historical appearance using authentic technologies, engineering solutions, and materials identical to the original. Later additions were removed from the facades, the historical plaster layer was carefully restored, and decorative elements of the kiots, kokoshniki, zakomary, and cornices were repaired. The granite base, damaged during the war, was restored. Ten new gilded metal crosses were installed to replace decayed wooden ones.
The historic “checkerboard” copper roofing was restored, the rafter system was reinforced, the battens replaced, and ventilation openings installed. Waterproofing and insulation of the attic ceilings and drum structures were carried out. Copper eaves were restored. On the ten domes, historical finials were restored, cross-bearing posts replaced, and continuous battens reconstructed. Window fillings made of larch were also restored.
