The office building of “Soyuzkhleb,” where the pioneering astronaut Y. Kondratyuk worked, was built in 1924 in just two and a half months using cinder blocks (service life 100 years). By 2017, the building was 93% worn out, in emergency condition, and was put under conservation. In 2023–2024, as part of the “Culture” federal program with regional and local budget participation, the building underwent reconstruction. It was dismantled and rebuilt in brick, inscriptions were restored, and wooden windows with original glazing were installed. The area increased from 800 to 1400 sq.m due to a new basement with storage facilities. The layout was adapted for use as a museum.
During the works, a descent vehicle was included. The ground floor hosts the exhibition arranged as Kondratyuk’s journey — from earthly projects to lunar ideas. The halls are connected by a smooth route; black ceilings, white walls, and rounded display cases create an atmosphere of intellectual movement. The image of the scientist is represented by 2D silhouettes in the exhibition and in the windows of the main facade at night. In 2025, murals “Kondratyuk” and “Kikina” were created on the facades of neighboring buildings.

Novosibirsk Museum (MAUK «Novosibirsk Museum») was established in 1993 as the Scientific and Memorial Center named after Y. V. Kondratyuk. In 2010 it was reorganized, and in 2013–2015 it merged the city’s district museums. Today it comprises 9 branches across 8 districts, 5 architectural and historical monuments, outdoor exhibitions at six sites and in the metro, archives of newsreels and photographs, guided tours, major city events, and its own video projects about Novosibirsk. The museum is a member of the Union of Museums of Russia.
