Category
Best Restoration or Reconstruction Project by Student
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The Khrenovskoy Stud Farm was founded in 1776 by Count Alexey Orlov-Chesmensky for breeding Orlov trotters. Between the late 18th and early 20th centuries, a classical-style architectural ensemble was built, divided into production and residential zones. The design object, the Main Stable Yard, is the dominant structure: a closed square of stables for valuable representatives of the breed, crowned with an oval dome. Today, the ensemble and its production facilities are in decline.
The project provides for the restoration of the buildings, the revival of the historical appearance of façades and interiors, optimization of adjacent territories for effective horse walking and training, landscaping, as well as creating conditions for hippotherapy classes.
This project will breathe new life into the historic structures and restore the glory of the place where the pride of Russian horse breeding — the Orlov trotter — was born.
