LAT Family Holiday Retreat

About the project (provided by the applicant)
This family eco-lodge unfolds organically along the hillside, composed of intimate cellular volumes that emerge gently from the terrain with minimal ecological intervention. Each sloped roof transforms into a private terrace for the dwelling above, echoing the terraced fabric of Masuleh and weaving a vertical dialogue of continuity and fluidity. Constructed with glulam timber and traditional ‘lat’ technique—interlocking wood and stone without nails—the structure honors ancestral craftsmanship. The indigenous gray soil, «Foush,» layered on rooftops acts as a living thermal and moisture barrier, strengthening through the footsteps of inhabitants. Nestled like origami folds on the mountain slope, the project orchestrates a poetic coexistence between built form, landscape, and cultural memory—an architecture that breathes sustainability and reverence for place.
