About the project (provided by the applicant)
At the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya in Mérida, Yucatán, Ensoñación: Lenguajes del Tiempo invites viewers on a journey through civilizations and their symbolic legacies. Adrián Gómez explores linguistic symbols from Aztec, Maya, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Chinese, Mesopotamian, Indian, and Babylonian cultures, weaving them into a universal visual language. Using large canvases and an original alphabet, his work reflects shared memory and timeless cultural bonds. Paintings capture cosmic cycles—moon phases, sunsets, and horizons—bridging ancient and contemporary visions. At the center, the monumental sculpture KAUS CIELO rises from a floor intervention projecting future visions of Earth, embodying spirituality and humanity’s sacred essence. The exhibition becomes a symbolic temple, reflecting our shared roots and the universal power of language to unite across time.
