Best Implemented Interior Design Project for Public Space
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The challenge we set for ourselves was to find a balance between austerity and elegance by blending the old with the new, combining high-tech aesthetics with the imagery of St. Petersburg’s grand halls. The result is a fusion style that we affectionately call «techno-Hermitage» within our bureau. Our fellow architects have described this approach as «meta-high-tech.»
The interior was designed for LESEL, a women’s clothing store. A key design element is the series of decorative bas-reliefs placed in the upper wall zone. Their flowing, voluminous lines create a dynamic rhythm, visually expanding the space while emphasizing the brand’s refined concept.
At the center of the retail hall stands a monolithic concrete table, contrasting with the overall airy aesthetic. It also serves a functional purpose with an integrated display case for showcasing jewelry.
Two opposite walls are clad with mirrors, creating the illusion of enfilade rooms and visually elongating and enlarging the 50-square-meter sales space.
