Project
Airport Terminal Complex “Levashovo”

Category
Best Project of Building or Facility by Student

About the project (provided by the applicant)
The airport terminal complex at Levashovo airfield is designed for domestic civil aviation flights. The concept draws inspiration from the history of aviation, the idea of a calm and safe flight, and the machines from Jules Verne’s adventure novels, creating an atmosphere of anticipation for travel.

The architecture combines elements of various flying machines:

  • Large-span frames resemble the skeleton of an airship, expressing structural strength.
  • Smoothly curved roofing, reminiscent of an aerostat envelope, symbolizes safe flight.
  • Glass façades and pilot-cabin-shaped skylights provide natural lighting for the two-level space and offer views of the runway and sky.
  • “Winged” canopies above entrances and turbine-shaped windows at the ends create a sense of movement.
  • Transparent zoning inside the complex ensures convenient navigation for passengers and staff.
