About the project (provided by the applicant)
The Library Atrium project is a modern semi-open public space designed for students as a coworking area, a place for learning, and for relaxation.
The key architectural feature is the atrium, filled with natural light. Sunlight enters through a full-wall arched gallery and circular skylights in the ceiling, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow while opening views of the sky.
The two levels, connected by a staircase, are equipped with bookshelves and closed zones protected from excess light and noise. Live trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants create an eco-friendly atmosphere, comfortable for both study and rest.
Although the project does not occupy a large footprint, the full-wall arched gallery creates an effect of expanded space. This architectural solution “breaks the third wall,” erasing the boundary between interior and exterior, which fosters a sense of psychological comfort.
