Water Rescue Station “Harmony”
Category
Best Architectural Project Created with Hand-Drawn Graphics
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The water rescue station is part of a system for ensuring safety on water bodies. The station is designed according to the existing terrain of Laskovyy Beach near St. Petersburg and reflects Vitruvius’ principle: “There are three main qualities of architecture: utility, strength, and beauty.”
Utility: The building accommodates 2–3 people, facilitates swimming safety, and provides first aid in emergencies.
Strength: The station is constructed with brick walls, reinforced concrete columns, and floors.
Beauty: Achieved through proportional forms and “eurhythmy,” i.e., the harmonious combination of lengths, heights, and widths of elements individually and collectively, with accent elements such as triangular shapes.
The project is executed using tempera applied with a soft sponge, a technique that conveys the volume of the structure and the relief of the site.
