An extraordinary two-act event. A dramatic performance based on the play by Nikolai Gogol.
The plot of N. V. Gogol’s play, written nearly 200 years ago, is familiar to many: the nobleman Ivan Kuzmich Podkolesin, intending to marry, turns to the matchmaker Fekla Ivanovna. The same matchmaker is asked by Agafya Tikhonovna Kuperdyagina, a 26-year-old merchant’s daughter, to find a suitable groom. On the surface, it seems an ideal couple is formed. However, a happy marriage does not occur: the protagonist jumps out of a window at the last moment.
