General Education School on Matisov Island

About the project (provided by the applicant)
The general education school project is developed within the framework of a new neighborhood layout. The architectural concept is based on three main axes: the boulevard axis, the green alley, and the sports line, which converge in the central light-filled atrium — the school’s internal public space. The atrium houses the lobby, library, amphitheater, recreational areas, and double-height corridors.
From the central core, five functional blocks extend: for primary, middle, and high school classes, a sports complex with a swimming pool, and a dining block with a media café. The spatial organization avoids intersecting flows: protected courtyard-gardens and separate circulation routes are formed between the buildings.
The façade solution combines light concrete, glazing, and metal accents, creating a contemporary architectural image that harmoniously interacts with the industrial context of Matisov Island. The school is designed as a new public center and an architectural landmark, forming a recognizable reference point in the urban environment.
