Best Project of Public Building or Facility

About the project
Hello Wood set out to design a building concept together with ZDA Zoboki Design & Architecture. The final concept is a building rehabilitation & development project made for Mathias Corvinus Collegium’s new campus. The project came in 1st place in a tie for the best design. The building uses wood as its main material and draws inspiration from several sources. Mathias Corvinus Collegium is one of Hungary’s largest private offering high level training in several disciplines.
During the ideation and design of the new Mathias Corvinus Collegium building, the design team focused primarily on finding the architectural idea: what could be the symbols that could strengthen the identity of a spiritual power center that, in addition to preserving the values of the Hungarians, also boldly seeks new ways. The resulting building is a formal response to the architectural ideas: the building reflects the ranges of the Carpathians, each of its details connects to this idea.
