The Media Center project in Bender is a unique architectural and artistic concept of a unified specialized space with a recreational area for media production development, integration of digital technologies, specialist training, and engaging youth in the professional media environment. The site is bounded by high-rise residential buildings of the “Solnechny” district to the east and the Friendship of Peoples Park to the west. The project provides for landscaping and improvement of the territory, as well as a multi-level parking facility.
A contextual approach and masterplan design create new pedestrian connections, turning the area into a “bridge” between the neighborhood and the park. The spatial structure is formed by a system of circular elements based on associative imagery (Ferris wheel, carousel, waves), transformed using stylistic prototypes inspired by Paolo Portoghesi’s works. The facade contours are associated with the curvilinear elements of the lake, terrain, sound waves, and dynamic movement.
